Решение было принято из-за производственных проблем в выпуске OLED панелей большого размера, которые заставили отказаться от OLED телевизоров всех производителей, за исключением LG. <br /><br />По прежним заявлениям Samsung следовало, что потребуется еще 3-4 года, прежде чем OLED телевизоры получат массовое распространение. Однако, по сообщению ETNews ситуация может измениться, а сроки сократиться. Глава корейской компании теперь утверждает, что Samsung планирует выпустить новые OLED телевизоры к концу этого года.<br /><br />Внезапное изменение может заключаться в желании противостоять конкуренту LG, который развивает массовое производство, с постоянными усовершенствованиями своих моделей, поставляет OLED панели другим производителям, что позволит корейскому сопернику увеличить производство и снизить цены. Кроме того на рынок OLED панелей выходят новые производители, включая китайскую компанию BOE с OLED Ultra HD панелями, и даже AU Optronics должна выйти на рынок в течение 2015 года с панелями 65". Ранее президент этой компании также скептически относился к OLED технологии в телевизорах, несмотря на то что тайваньская компания уже давно научилась делать большие OLED панели.<br /><br />Новые OLED телевизоры Samsung, согласно ETNews, будут оснащены панелями Ultra HD, могут стать конкурентами поступающим осенью в продажу 55", 65" и 77" OLED телевизорам LG.
