Если добавить сюда все остальные основные видео сервисы и видео странички пользователей, то это составит большую часть  интернет-трафика. Данная тенденция будет со временем становиться только более значимой. <br /><br />Такие данные приводит в своем ежегодном отчете американская компания Cisco. Видео уже сейчас занимает более 66% мирового интернет-трафика, и этот показатель, как ожидается, достигнет 79% к 2018 году, поскольку телевидение все активнее использует интернет для передачи картинки конечному пользователю.<br /><br />Интернет-трафик в целом увеличится, как ожидается, более чем в два раза в течение следующих пяти лет. К 2018 году почти четыре миллиарда человек будут иметь доступ к интернету, по сравнению с 2,5 млрд. в 2013 году. HD и 4K видео, как ожидается, займет львиную долю в расширении видео-трафика. Особенно много трафика потребуется для 4K видео и Cisco полагает, что 20% телевизоров будут относиться моделям с разрешением 4K к 2018 году. Ожидается, что средняя скорость интернета вырастет в в 2,6 раза, достигнув 42 Мбит/c к 2018 году, чего более чем достаточно для приема телеканалов в разрешении 4K.
