В настоящее время к этому проекту подключается и BBC. Британская телекомпания не собирается заняться съемками, а вместо этого будет экспериментировать с доставкой в режиме прямого эфира цифрового телесигнала сверх высокого разрешения по существующим каналам связи, с тем чтобы обеспечить картинку в разрешении 4К на экранах телевизоров в Великобритании.<br /><br />Звучит многообещающе, но лишь горстка сотрудников компании получит возможность посмотреть это событие. Глобальная  передача не будет дополнена общедоступной телетрансляцией для широкой публики. BBC намерена провести лишь пробный прогон телесигналов, для того чтобы лучше подготовиться к массовому телевещанию в разрешении 4K в будущем.<br /><br />Сегодня производители UHD телевизоров надеются привить покупателям любовь к новому формату, но это будет возможно лишь тогда, когда у людей будет выбор видеоматериалов сверхвысокого разрешения.
