Видеосигнал передавался через интернет с помощью приложения "Wiener Staatsoper Samsung Smart TV," доступного на Ultra HD TV от Samsung в некоторых странах. <br /><br />Elemental Technologies предоставила необходимое программное обеспечение для кодирования цифрового видеосигнала с помощью кодека HEVC и технологии MPEG-DASH (Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP), которая позволяет регулировать скорость потока (и, следовательно, качество) автоматически выбирая наиболее эффективные маршруты передачи, не вызывая при этом задержек в трансляции.<br /><br />Координатором проекта выступила австрийская компания ETAS Hardware High Tech Systems, которая тесно сотрудничала с Венской государственной оперой, Samsung и другими партнерами. Съемки велись на 4K камеры  Sony PMW-F55 CineAlta, а за передачу видеосигнала по глобальной сети отвечала компания Ooyala.
