Южнокорейская компания выпустила свои OLED телевизоры в прошлом году у себя дома и в США, но они получились очень дорогими и не выдерживали конкуренции с моделями LG, которая использует другую технологию OLED панелей с четырьмя цветными фильтрами WRGB и белыми OLED источниками.<br /><br />В настоящее время Samsung сосредоточится на выпуске высококачественных ЖК телевизоров и будет продолжать исследования по OLED технологии, но, скорее всего, приостановит на некоторое время выпуск новых OLED телевизоров. <br /><br />Вместо  этого, компания собирается направить высвобождающиеся из телевизионного сектора средства на строительство нового завода по выпуску OLED панелей малого и среднего размера для таких устройств, как смартфоны.<br /><br />Скорее всего, в ближайшее время популяризации OLED технологии замедлится. В 2013 году было продано всего 4400 OLED телевизоров, по данным американской исследовательской компании DisplaySearch.
