С октября по декабрь 2013 года компания получила операционную прибыль в размере $220 млн. (238 млрд. вон), более чем в два раза увеличив операционную прибыль от своего ТВ подразделения, но в целом получила чистый убыток за квартал - $59 млн.  (64 млрд. вон). Дело в том, что мобильный сектор (включая смартфоны и планшеты) перестал приносить прибыль LG, с потерей в 4 квартале 2013 года $40 млн. (43 млрд. вон). Этот операционный убыток был частично отнесен на маркетинговые затраты, в течение последних 12 месяцев LG  более агрессивно рекламировала флагманские смартфоны, такие как LG G2  и G Flex. <br /><br />Квартальные продажи смартфонов LG составили 13,2 миллиона штук - увеличение более чем на  на 50 процентов, в сравнении с аналогичным периодом прошлого года.<br /><br />LG также ожидает, что в 2014 году серьезно увеличит продажи OLED телевизоров, которые должны стать "основным драйвером роста" в телевизионном секторе и призваны, в конце концов, заменить модели ЖК LED.
