С тех пор, не было обнадеживающих новостей. И вот Intel объявила о том, что продает специально созданное подразделение Intel Media.<br /><br />Все 350 сотрудников из подразделения Intel Media будут трудоустроены в американской телекоммуникационной компании Verizon. Считается , что сделка будет стоить около $ 500 млн  (но цифра неофициальная). <br /><br />Причины, которые привели к соглашению по существу одинаковы для обеих сторон: Intel поняла, что запуск ТВ сервиса подразумевает наличие доступа к сетям и огромное количество потенциальных абонентов. Очевидно, что полупроводниковый гигант не имеет ни сети, ни публичных абонентов, и вместо того, чтобы начать все с нуля предпочтительно найти покупателя, который имеет эти ресурсы, а также соглашения для распространения контента в своих сетях. <br /><br />Intel теперь собирается сосредоточиться на более традиционных для себя областях, таких как информационные центры.
