Поразительный прогресс современной микроэлектроники и успехи в развитии видео сверхвысокого разрешения позволяют создавать уникальные медицинские приборы. <br />Medical Imaging Consortium (MIC) сообщил о результатах уникального эксперимента на животных. В процессе операции по удалению желчного пузыря свиньи использовали эндоскоп, который позволяет просматривать оперируемую зону на видео с разрешением 8К.<br /><br />"Это был больший успех, чем мы ожидали", сказал Toshio Chiba, главный директор MIC. В эксперименте был использован 8K эндоскоп созданный на основе компактной 8К камеры, разработанной Hitachi Kokusai Electric, и эндоскоп производства компании Shinko Optical. "Видео с эндоскопа настолько детальное, что может устранить необходимость в хирургических микроскопах," сказал Chiba. В результате, становится возможным увидеть внутренние структуры кровеносных сосудов и границы между раковыми и нормальными тканями, которые невозможно было увидеть ранее. "Возможно увидеть даже кедровую пыльцу", сказал Chiba.<br /><br />Отмечая быструю миниатюризацию 8К камер,  Chiba сказал: "Они вначале весили 80 кг в 2002 году. Но вес был уменьшен до 40 кг в 2004 году, 20 кг - в 2010 году и 2,5 кг - в 2013 году. Более того, предполагается, что через один или два года вес будет еще раз сокращен до 1/3". <br />Chiba планирует участвовать в деятельности по продвижению новых медицинских видеоразработок не только в Японии, но и в других странах.
