Видеокамера HDR-СН1 оснащена фирменным  1/2,3-дюймовым  сенсором Exmor R типа CMOS, с разрешением 16 мегапикселей (эффективное видео 8,4 мегапикселей). Камера включает в себя объектив Carl Zeiss с уменьшенным углом охвата (120 ° против 170 ° у HDR-AS30V). HDR-СН1 способна снимать видео со скоростью до 1080/30p, новые функции включают запись высококачественного аудио за счет интегрированного стерео микрофона, в формате PCM, 48 кГц / 16 бит. Другие функции в основном такие же, как в HDR-AS30V, в том числе Wi-Fi, пульт дистанционного управления со смартфона или планшета на Android и поддержка технологии NFC (но не хватает GPS).<br />Музыкальная камера HDR-СН1 уже доступна в Европе за 299 евро.
