Сегодня многие 4K мониторы выполнены на основе 31,5-дюймовой 4K панели Sharp, но начиная с первого или второго квартала 2014 года AU Optronics начнет производить жидкокристаллические 27 и 32 дюймовые 4K панели. Панели AUO, как правило, более доступны по стоимости.<br /><br />Панели AUO сегодня часто встречаются в мониторах BenQ, Philips, Asus, и в некоторых мониторах Samsung. AUO будет производить четыре типа 27 и 32 дюймовых панелей с разрешением 3840x2160. В каждом размере будет модель с поддержкой цветовой гаммы SRGB и с гаммой AdobeRGB. <br /><br />Новые ЖК панели будут выполнены с использованием AHVA – разновидности технологии  IPS. Они будут отличаться широкими углами обзора, точной цветопередачей, но относительно слабой контрастностью. AUO заявляет, что контрастность всех четырех панелей будет 1000:1. AUO планирует начать массовое производство в первом или втором квартале 2014 года.
