Между Samsung и LG идет постоянное соперничество, кто раньше представит и начнет выпуск гибких и сгибаемых дисплеев. Порой это соперничество даже больше похоже на соревнование в словесной перепалке, <a href="http://www.hdtv.ru/news/industry/14048-lg-predstavila-po-nastoyaschemu-izognutyy-oled-smartfon.html" >у кого экран более  гибкий</a>. <br /><br />Генеральный директор Samsung Electronics Квон О Хен недавно заявил о том, что Samsung сможет производить полностью сгибаемые экраны к 2015 году, которые будут конечно же использованы в смартфонах или планшетах, которые сейчас приносят основной доход Samsung. <br /><br />Компания не сообщает каких-либо подробностей о технологиях, которые позволят создавать такие дисплеи. Между тем недавно японская компания SEL разработала несколько гибких OLED дисплеев с использованием нового материала – оксидных полупроводников CAAC. Технология CAAC упрощает разработку гибких дисплеев, и как заявляет SEL, позволит уже сегодня создавать высококачественные гибкие дисплеи самого высокого класса с плотностью пикселей 513 ppi.
