Портативный PHA-2 имеет, кроме ЦАП, встроенный усилитель мощности для наушников. Для подключения аудио источников есть порт USB, PHA-2 совместим с устройствами Apple iOS, поддерживает музыкальные файлы DSD  (англ. Есть также коаксиальный цифровой вход, аналоговый вход мини-джек, стерео аналоговый выход и выход на наушники с сопротивлением от 8 до 600 Ом.<br /><br />Для питания используются литиевые аккумуляторы, которые обеспечивают до 6,5 часов прослушивания цифровых источников и до 17 часов аналоговых источников.
