Известно, что американские покупатели все чаще выбирают телевизор по ширине рамки вокруг экран. Чем уже рамка, тем более желательным становится такой телевизор в гостиной. Подобная тенденция сегодня имеет место и по отношению к смартфонам. Экран, который простирается вплоть до самого края лицевой панели, рассматривается как самый современный. Перед разработчиками открывается множество различных вариантов конструкций, где экраны могут быть сгруппированы вместе для бизнес-приложений и торговых предприятий. Развивается эта бескаркасная концепция на основе технологии Sharp IGZO, которая позволяет повышать разрешение и яркость, имея возможность снижать размеры дисплеев и их энергопотребление.
