В развитии технологии передачи телевизионных Ultra HD каналов через спутник компания сотрудничает с рядом партнеров.  <br /><br />Сейчас компания эксплуатирует в демонстрационном режиме два Ultra HD канала, которые кодируются с использованием нового эффективного видеокодека HEVC (high efficiency video coding) стандарта H.265, который позволяет достичь очень высокой степени сжатия без потери качества. SES и Sony уже вели телепередачи в Ultra HD на выставке IBC в 2012 году, но тогда это было сделано в стандарте H.264 со скоростью передачи данных 50 Мбит / с.<br /><br /><div align="center"><!--dle_image_begin:http://www.hdtv.ru/uploads/posts/2013-09/1379358242_ses2.jpg|--><img src="http://www.hdtv.ru/uploads/posts/2013-09/1379358242_ses2.jpg" alt="SES демонстрирует два Ultra HD канала" title="SES демонстрирует два Ultra HD канала"  /><!--dle_image_end--></div><br /><br />При передаче одного из Ultra HD каналов SES работает с компаниями Sky и Harmonic. Транслируются спортивные мероприятия, художественные и документальные фильмы. Картинка получается с использованием приемных Ultra HD телеприставок Humax и Technicolor и затем отображаются на экране 84-дюймового 4K телевизора  Sony. Другой Ultra HD канал создан совместно с немецким институтом Генриха Герца, чтобы показать возможности HEVC и нового стандарта H.265.
