Директор технологического отдела Panasonic и ответственный за цифровое телевидение Yoshiyuki Miyabe заявил, что компания планирует начать выпуск OLED телевизоров к 2015 финансовому году. Объем портативной дисплейной электроники Panasonic по отношению к телевизорам  должен соответствовать соотношению 50:50. Тогда как сейчас телевизоры составляют 80 % от дисплейной продукции компании.<br /><br />И дело здесь не в прямом сокращении выпуска телевизоров, просто маленькие дисплеи производить гораздо выгоднее, чем делать большие телевизоры, которые меньше покупают и реже меняют. Компания Samsung первой откликнулась на запросы рынка и получает сегодня от продажи смартфонов основные прибыли.<br /><br />Miyabe отрицал предположения, что Panasonic собирается полностью прекращать выпуск ЖК телевизоров. Касаясь горячо обсуждаемой темы о будущем производства плазменных телевизоров,  главный «технолог» Panasonic только заметил, что есть «несколько обсуждаемых сегодня в компании вариантов» относительно будущего плазменной технологии Panasonic. В которую, стоит отметить, компания вложила серьезные средства. <br />
