TDK прощается с Blu-ray


Японская компания TDK одной из первых вышла на рынок Европы с записываемыми Blu-ray дисками. В настоящее время, похоже, компания готова к тому, чтобы покинуть этот сектор рынка и заняться более выгодной деятельностью.

Это был в 2006 году, когда TDK представила на выставке IFA в Берлине свой первый записываемый двухслойный Blu-ray диск (BD-R/RE 50GB). С тех пор японская транснациональная корпорация продолжает разрабатывать и производить BD-R и BD-RE, одно-и двухслойные диски, BD-XL диски для некоторых стран. Но судя по сообщению на японском сайте AVWatch, подразделение по выпуску Blu-ray дисков будет выведено из эксплуатации к концу 2013 финансового года (до марта 2014 года).

Заводы будут проданы другой компании, заинтересованной в этой деятельности. А вырученные средства TDK планирует вложить в считающиеся более выгодными предприятия по выпуску пассивных электронных компонентов, магнитных носителей и аккумуляторных батарей.
