Этот новый формат позволит передавать в 3D телепрограммы, которые можно будет принимать на 3D дисплеи в разрешении 3D Full HD и в Full HD на обычные телевизоры, при этом сохраняя совместимость с существующими стандартами телевещания.<br /><br />При просмотре на 3D телепрограмм сегодня часто используется формат передачи «бок-о-бок», отправляя два изображения рядом в одном кадре, которые на телевизоре растягиваются до полной ширины экрана в одном кадре, что снижает качество изображения. Новый формат передает как левое и правое изображения в полной высокой четкости и предоставляет зрителям лучшее изображение.<br /><br />Иностранные телевещатели также смогут применять японскую систему вещания Advanced Stereo 3D, используя энкодер NHK Медиа. Компания ожидает, что эта система вещания будет использоваться во всем мире. Однако, пока корейские телевещатели работают над аналогичным собственным проектом, который возможно будет совместим с японским стандартом 3D телевещания.<br /><br />В России тоже есть компании уже готовые предложить стране и миру аналогичные разработки, технология получила название <a href="http://www.hdtv.ru/news/industry/12717-rossiya-obespechivaet-3d-okno-v-mir.html" >3DZT</a>.
