Они не очень избирательны, так например, красный фильтр может пропускать и кое-что из оранжевой части спектра. Квантовые точки испускают только определенные, настраиваемые длины волн света. В результате через красный фильтр пройдет только красный цвет, через синий - синий, а через зеленый - зеленый.<br /><br />Первый вариант технологии квантовых точек Sony использовала значительно раньше в Bravia XBR8. Но вынуждена была отказаться от нее после 2009 года из-за дороговизны реализации.
