Это тот случай, когда конкуренция не идет на пользу покупателю. Преодолеть разобщенность программных продуктов и сервисов призван организованный LG, Toshiba и Philips альянс смарт-ТВ, к которому решили присоединиться пять новых членов. Среди них производители оборудования Panasonic, ABOX42 и TechniSat,  а также провайдеры IBM и Specific Media.<br /><br />Президент Smart TV альянса Richard Choi считает, что новые члены помогут объединить фрагментированный рынок, дадут разработчикам возможность сфокусироваться на приложениях, устранив необходимость перемещения между платформами. В рамках выставки CES 2013 пройдут конференции разработчиков, на которых будут обсуждаться спецификации HTML5, CSS3 и j&#097;vascript, а также поддержка новых видеокодеков и 3D видео.
