Особенность UltraViolet в том, что она построена по принципу «одна покупка копии для воспроизведения на разных устройствах».  Человек, купивший такой диск, получает возможность смотреть приобретенный  фильм на других домашних и мобильных дисплеях при подключении через интернет к удаленному серверу, откуда в потоковом виде можно скачивать этот контент на несколько зарегистрированных на этого пользователя устройств (до 12). И даже делать копии, привязанные к воспроизведению на определенном устройстве.
