По сообщению DisplaySearch за первые шесть месяцев нынешнего года Samsung поставила Apple свыше 15 млн. ЖК дисплеев, LG Display – 12,5 млн. и Sharp – 2,8 млн. В третьем квартале Samsung Display продала Apple уже только около 3 млн. дисплеев, а в четвертом квартале этот показатель снизится до 1,5 млн. В следующем году, судя по всему, основными поставщиками для Apple будут Sharp с дисплеями на основе технологии IGZO и LG со своими ЖК IPS панелями.<br /><br />Просивший не называть его имени представитель Samsung сообщил Korea Times, что его компанию не устраивает стоимость, по которой Apple закупает у них ЖК панели, в этом году они уже сократили поставки, а в следующем вообще прекратят.<br />По сведениям DisplaySearch,  ЖК панели, используемые в новых iPad , с разрешением 2048x1536, состоящие из 3,14 млн. пикселей обходятся Apple по цене $0,00003 за пиксель. Для iPad 2 они раньше стоили (если перейти на расчеты за пиксели) $0,000063 за пиксель.<br /><br />По сообщению той же Korea Times, восполнить потери Samsung надеется за счет продаж своих ЖК панелей для гаджетов Amazon.
