XBMC поддерживает пользовательские плагины и темы оформления.<br /><br />Популярный медиацентр XBMC разрабатывался как альтернатива Windows Media Center от Microsoft и Front Row от Apple. Первоначально XBMC создавался для первого поколения игровой консоли Xbox. Но сейчас он поддерживает Linux, Mac OS X (Snow Leopard, Leopard, Tiger, Apple TV), Apple iOS , Microsoft Windows, а также существует тестовая версия для Android, есть поддержка универсального мини-компьютера Raspberry Pie .
