Поставки начнутся уже в августе, заявил президент Sharp Такаши Окуда на брифинге в Токио, посвященном в основном финансовым результатам компании по итогам второго квартала.<br /><br />Новый заказ от успешного производителя будет весьма кстати для Sharp на фоне продолжающейся череды финансовых проблем. Во втором квартале компания почти втрое увеличила убыток - до $1,77 млрд, в сравнении с аналогичным периодом прошлого года. Сегодня телевизоры Sharp плохо раскупаются на внутреннем рынке, куда была ориентирована большая часть производимых моделей. Компания уже объявила о намерении сократить к марту следующего года 5 тыс. рабочих мест (около 9% всего штата). Данное сокращение может стать первым с 1950 года крупномасштабным сокращением в Sharp. <br /><br />По сообщению агентства Рейтерс, поставками дисплеев для нового iPhone, кроме Sharp, займутся, LG Display и Japan Display. Отмечается отсутствие в перечне поставщиков Samsung. Ранее Samsung вместе с LG выступал поставщиком дисплеев для нескольких поколений техники Apple. По слухам, новый iPhone будет оснащаться 4 дюймовым экраном вместо 3,5 дюймового во всех предыдущих поколениях.<br />
