Известный японский производитель полупроводниковых компонентов компания Rohm объявила о прорыве в домашних беспроводных технологиях. Новые микросхемы компании для систем беспроводной передачи позволяют достичь скорости в 1,5 Гб/с, но это только начало революции в беспроводных системах.

Японский производитель обещает в ближайшие несколько лет добиться возможности беспроводной передачи не сжатого видео в разрешении 4К.
Новое решение, разработанное специалистами компании и исследователями университета из Осаки, использует терагерцовый диапазон радиоволн ( 100 ГГц – 10 ТГц). СВЧ антенна подключается к полупроводниковому чипу размером 2х1 см и стоимостью $1,3. Для сравнения производимые сегодня аналогисные чипы с пропускной способность в 0,1 Гб/с стоят во много раз дороже.

Ром заявляет, что массовое производство новых чипов может начаться в течение 3 - 4 лет и, что такого рода решения помогут течение в нескольких лет достичь пропускной способности до 30 Гб/с.
