В научно-исследовательские разработки планируется вложить $2,7 млрд. Под производство OLED будет переоборудован недавно купленный у Panasonic завод по производству ЖК панелей для телевизоров.<br /><br />Таким образом, ЖК телевизоры Panasonic, у которых компания намеревалась увеличить диагональ экрана, если и будут собираться, то на основе покупных панелей. А Japan Display становится обладателем крупнейшего производства по выпуску средних и малых OLED дисплеев. Правда, их еще надо разработать и, массовый выпуск японских OLED дисплеев намечен на 2013 год.<br /><br />LG и Samsung, недавно построившие новые заводы по производству OLED панелей, ориентируют их на большие телевизионные экраны.
