Что давало Sony доступ к технологии Samsung по производству ЖК панелей типа PVA и прямые поставки панелей на свои сборочные заводы.<br /><br />Однако сейчас Sony, как и многие другие японские производители меняет стратегию развития и, вероятно, отказ от партнерства с Samsung будет одним из первых шагов в этой программе. Sony надеется вернуть вложенные в совместный завод $1,6 млрд., уступив свою долю Samsung или найдя другого покупателя. Сейчас Samsung, как собственник технологии, владеет контрольным пакетом акций в 50,1%. <br /><br />Необходимо напомнить, что Sony недавно вошла в состав организованного японским правительством предприятия по выпуску ЖК панелей среднего и малого размеров. Кроме Sony в этот альянс входят Toshiba и Hitachi. Кроме того, стало известно, что Sony инвестировала средства в новый завод Sharp по производству ЖК панелей. Кроме Sony финансовую заинтересованность в продукции с этого завода выразила и компания Apple.<br />
