Соотношение сторон экрана для таких моделей принято,  как 21:9, сегодня наиболее распространены модели с соотношением 16:9. Но в сверх широкоформатных телевизорах Philips Cinema уже используется именно такое соотношение сторон экрана - 21:9. <br /><br />Комитет по видеосистемам ассоциации CEA начал разработку детальных стандартов, чтобы обеспечить производителей телевизоров и телекоммуникационного оборудования едиными нормами для проектирования аппаратуры просмотра, записи и доставки контента.
