В планах компании производить эти панели с помощью  тайваньских партнеров, что обойдется дешевле. <br /><br />Теперь завод Sharp в Kameyama будет специализироваться на малых и средних LCD панелях для смартфонов и других продуктов, в то время как завод Сакаи в префектуре Осака будет специализироваться на сверхбольших панелях размером 60 дюймов и более. <br /><br />В начале 2000-х годов Sharp контролировал почти половину мирового рынка телевизоров с плоским экраном. В течение 11 лет, Samsung Electronics и LG Electronics стали более конкурентоспособными, агрессивно инвестируя в новые заводы. <br /><br />Panasonic планирует сократить свои инвестиционные планы для LCD и плазменных панелей на двух заводах в префектуре Хегона на 10 процентов ($ 5520 млн). Компания планирует перенести производство в Китай, а также закупать LCD панели от других производителей. <br /><br />Sony также начала закупать более дешевые панели для своих телевизоров и переносить часть производства в страны с более дешевой рабочей силой. Toshiba уже производит свои телевизионные панели за пределами Японии.<br /><br />Сегодня японские производители панелей для телевизоров в конкуренции с южнокорейскими могут противопоставить лишь качество своих изделий и притягательность бренда.
