В прошлом году несмотря на активную рекламную компанию было продано лишь 4,2 млн. <br /><br />В 2012 году также ожидается почти троекратный рост 54,2 млн. штук. А 100 миллионную отметку продажи 3D HDTV преодолеют в 2014 году.<br /><br />В 2011 году производители представляют 3D функцию, как к желательную возможность в новом телевизоре. Подобно тому как ранее была воспринята возможность подключения телевизора к интернет, считают аналитики "iSuppli". Такой подход предоставляет  покупателям выбор дополнительной опции в приобретаемом устройстве, вместо того, чтобы подталкивать их к покупке, к которой они не готовы.<br /><br />Для дополнительной мотивации производители снижают цены. Так например цены в США в марте этого года упали на 9% по сравнению с февралем и будут продолжать снижаться. Что же касается недостатка 3D контента – до конца 2010 года в США и Великобритании были запущены 80 новых 3D каналов. В этом году количество таких каналов увеличится, в первую очередь, это будут спортивные телепрограммы и развлекательные шоу.<br />
