Компания сообщила, что в результате противоправных действий злоумышленникам стали известны данные о пользователях PlayStation Network и Qriocity, включающие имя, адрес электронной почты и почтовый адрес, дата рождения, наименование учетной записи, пароль и сетевой идентификатор пользователя PlayStation Network.<br /><br />Первыми будут восстановлены многопользовательский режим игры на PS3 и PSP, PlayStation Home, управление учетной записью, текстовые и аудио чаты, доступ через Qriocity к сервису Music Unlimited. Часть контента в PSN будет некоторое время бесплатной, бесплатно в течение месяца можно будет пользоваться PlayStation Plus и Music Unlimited.<br /><br />Sony сейчас сотрудничает с несколькими специализирующимися на цифровой безопасности компаниями, а также учредила новый пост директора по информационной безопасности. Для сохранения целостности сети будет внедрен ряд мер по повышению безопасности PSN, в том числе будет использоваться шифрование с установкой дополнительного оборудования и программного обеспечения. Позднее появится обновленная операционная система.<br /><br />На сегодняшний день в PSN зарегистрировано около 78 миллионов учетных записей, и около 10 миллионов из них были с данными о банковских картах. Больше всего пользователей PSN в США – 31 миллион, на втором месте Великобритания – 9,2 миллиона, далее Япония с 7,5 миллионами.
