Дело в том, что фирмы Packard Bell и Gateway принадлежат тайваньской корпорации Acer. Продукция первой при этом ориентирована на европейский рынок, а техника второй –– на страны Северной Америки. <br /><br />Packard Bell dot m/a, построенный на базе процессора AMD Athlon 64 L110 (1,2 ГГц), оснащен жестким диском емкостью от 160 до 320 Гб, 1 Гб оперативной памяти с возможностью расширения до 2 Гб, кардридером "5 в 1", контроллером Wi-Fi, веб-камерой, микрофоном и тачпадом с поддержкой управления жестами. В качестве опции предлагаются Bluetooth-модуль и 3G-модем. За работу с графикой отвечает видеоадаптер ATI Radeon X1270 с 512 Мб ОЗУ. <br /><br />Аккумулятор новинки, в зависимости от модификации, может иметь три или шесть ячеек. Срок автономной работы нетбука с шестиэлементной батареей достигает четырех часов. <br /><br />В качестве программной платформы используется ОС Windows Vista Basic или Windows Vista Home Premium. Равно как и другие нетбуки семейства dot, модель m/a оснащается полной версией графического пакета Adobe Photoshop Elements 6. <br /><br />Вес нетбука составляет 1,25 кг (с трехэлементным аккумулятором). <br />
