Новая версия включит технологию HDMI Ethernet Channel (HEC), которая позволит объединять устройства в локальную сеть при помощи HDMI-кабеля, с максимальной скоростью передачи информации 100 Мбит/с. Это позволит устройствам обмениваться данными без использования отдельного LAN-кабеля, сообщает Electronista. <br /><br />В версии HDMI 1.4 будет реализована возможность обратной передачи звуковых сигналов (Audio Return Channel – ARC). Она также позволит передавать видеосигнал более высокого разрешения – 4096 x 2160 пикселей с частотой обновления до 30 Гц, картинку в 3D и будет поддерживать цветовой диапазон, сопоставимый с цветовым диапазоном цифровых фотокамер. Производители малогабаритных устройств смогут оснащать свои продукты миниатюрными разъемами HDMI. С их помощью можно будет передавать видео с разрешением Full HD. <br /><br />Тестовые поставки чипсетов HDMI 1.4 планируется начать до лета 2009 г. Первые продукты с поддержкой новой версии интерфейса ожидаются в продаже в 2010 г. <br /><br />
