Продажи телевизоров высокой четкости впервые превысили продажи устройств стандартного разрешения. С удешевлением электроники и падением стоимости на HD-телевизоры формат высокой четкости становится обычным явлением даже в условиях неблагоприятной финансовой обстановки, констатирует iSuppli. В 2008 г. мировые продажи телевизоров высокой четкости (HDTV) впервые обошли продажи устройств стандартного разрешения. При этом в течение следующих пяти лет тенденция сохранится, утверждает аналитическое агентство iSuppli.

Согласно подсчетам аналитиков, в этом году в мире будет продано 124,2 млн телевизоров высокой четкости против 86,6 обычных телеприемников. В 2012 г. HDTV-устройств будет продано в 2,5 раз больше — 241,2 млн. Таким образом, в период с 2007 по 2012 г.г. среднегодовой рост сегмента HDTV составит 27%. В то же время рынок устройств стандартного разрешения в течение следующих пяти лет будет постепенно сокращаться: с 114,8 млн устройств в 2007 г. до всего лишь 23,1 млн в 2012 г.

Что касается ТВ-приставок, то в настоящий момент лишь каждый пятый цифровой ресивер поддерживает разрешение высокой четкости. В 2012 г. их число увеличится до 50%.

Распространение HDTV будет обусловлено двумя следующими факторами. Во-первых, увеличением доступности контента высокой четкости и его широким распространением. Во-вторых, удешевлением электронных компонентов для обработки HD-сигнала. Процесс декодирования видео в формате MPEG-4 (H.264), безусловно, более сложен, чем, например, видео в формате MPEG-2.

Однако с каждым новым поколением полупроводниковых технологий микросхемы, выполняющие задачу обработки сигнала, становятся дешевле. Например, интерфейс HDMI, два года назад казался недоступным, а сейчас является стандартом, также произойдет и с форматами, считают наблюдатели. «Стоимость создания, доставки и воспроизводства контента High Definition становится минимальной», — подытоживает аналитик iSuppli Шерри Гринспэн (Sheri Greenspan). Таким образом, рынок HDTV преодолеет финансовый кризис, в условиях которого потребительский спрос на электронику снижается.

Ранее аналитики уже указывали на то, что количество семей с телевизором высокой четкости непрерывно увеличивается. Хотя аббревиатура HD часто вводит покупателей в заблуждение, все больше людей отдают предпочтение технике с такой этикеткой. К телевизорам «высокой четкости» HDTV относят устройства форматов Full HD (1920x1080p и 1920x1080i) и HD Ready с прогрессивной разверткой (1280x720p). Между тем лейбл HD часто встречается и на относительно бюджетных моделях HD Ready с чересстрочной разверткой (1280x720i).
