Архитектура этих GPU отличается самым высоким на сегодняшний день энергетическим КПД.<br /><br />В серии S3 Graphics Chrome 400 ULP выпускается три модели. Модель S3 Graphics Chrome 430 ULP — первый отдельный графический процессор, специально предназначенный для сверхтонких и легких ноутбуков. Видеоконтроллер Chrome 430 ULP имеет самую малую в отрасли расчетную тепловую мощность (менее 7 Вт), и обладает самым высоким энергетическим КПД. Это позволяет реализовать возможность воспроизведения HD-видео и поддержку игр под DirectX 10.1.<br /><br />По заявлению разработчиков, процессор S3 Graphics Chrome 435 ULP опережает конкурентов более чем на 40% (быстродействие на ватт), при этом потребляя меньшее количество энергии. В то же время, видеоконтроллер Chrome 440 ULP работает на 60% быстрее своего ближайшего конкурента, воспроизводит HD-видео с разрешением 1080p, в том числе диски Blu-ray с функцией «картинка в картинке» и двухпотоковые, а также поддерживает игры под DirectX 10.1.<br /><br />Нам остается дождаться появления моделей с процессорами S3 и на собственном опыте проверить, все ли так хорошо и ярко.
