В продажу поступил первый ноутбук Toshiba с потоковым процессором Tohiba Quad Core HD, созданным на базе чипа Cell, сообщает Hothardware. Впервые процессор Cell был использован в приставке PlayStation 3.

Называется новинка Toshiba Qosmio G55-802 и работает под управлением операционной системы Windows Vista Home Premium. Диагональ экрана лэптопа равна 18,4 дюйма, максимальное разрешение - 1680x945 пикселей. Стоит Qosmio G55-802 1550 долларов.

Построен ноутбук на базе процессора Intel Core2 Duo P7350 с тактовой частой два гигагерца. Максимальный объем оперативной памяти ноутбука составляет четыре гигабайта. В G55-802 может быть установлено два 250-гигабайтных жестких диска.

Потоковый процессор Tohiba Quad Core HD состоит из четырех ядер и включает в себя аппаратные средства кодирования и декодирования FullHD-видео. Он подключается к работе в моменты пиковой загрузки центрального процессора при работе с графикой и позволяет в реальном времени преобразовывать стандартное видео в FullHD, а также записывать передачи цифрового телевидения в формате MPEG-4.

Ноутбуки Toshiba с потоковым процессором на основе чипа Cell были анонсированы в конце июня текущего года. Вместе с поступившим в продажу лэптопом был представлен 15,4-дюймовый ноутбук F40. Тогда сообщалось, что стоить они будут не менее 2,5 тысяч долларов.
