Компания Texas Instruments (TI) объявила гарантию 5 лет на DLP-микродисплеи, но, кажется, совсем не для того, чтобы порадовать потенциальных покупателей<br /><br />Истинная причина инициативы Texas Instruments заключается в стремлении лишний раз напомнить покупателям о выгорании LCD-микродисплеев, что недвусмысленно отражено в анонсе акции - "unlike the competition, most DLP projectors do not require filters, are not prone to burn-in of images and are virtually free from color degradation over time" (http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/080701/latu094.html?.v=101). Не остается сомнений, что под конкурентами с "выгорающими микродисплеями" подразумеваются LCD-проекторы.<br /><br />Очередной выпад TI был спровоцирован недавним призывом представителей LCD-технологии установить стандарты цветной яркости проекторов, чтобы не вводить в заблуждение покупателей. Подоплека предложения заключалась в том, чтобы напомнить покупателям, что в DLP-проекторах с одним микродисплеем "цветная" яркость ниже, чем приводимая в спецификациях и измеренная в белом свете. Естественно, что компания TI не задержалась с ответным шагом, и подчеркнула, что цветовая яркость в DLP-проекторах сохраняется в ходе всей эксплуатации проекторов, а в LCD-проекторах начинает деградировать с начала эксплуатации.<br /><br />Стоит отметить, что "перепалка" LCD и DLP давно вышла за рамки конкурентной этики, что является довольно редким и необычным явлением, учитывая солидность оппонентов. Остается предположить, что существует "внешняя" причина, которой опасаются и те и другие. Вполне возможно, что такой "опасностью" и для DLP и LCD проекторов является быстрое снижение цен на телевизоры больших размеров, которые однозначно потеснят все проекторы в целом, невзирая ни на какие технологии.<br />
