Размеры памяти стали меньше настолько, что теперь ее можно помещать прямо в процессор, сообщает TG Daily. <br /><br />Такая память, присоединенная к процессору, сможет полностью заменить кэш, который составляет более дорогая и медленная память SRAM (статическая память со случайным доступом). Ученым удалось разогнать память до 2 ГГц и достичь пропускной способности 128 ГБ в секунду – в несколько раз больше по сравнению со статической памятью. <br /><br />Пока новая DRAM выполнена с использованием 65-нм технологической нормы. Однако в компании надеются, что при переходе на новую формулу транзисторов им удастся повысить частоту памяти до значений, сопоставимых с тактовой частотой процессоров. После этого новую DRAM планируется использовать в процессорах Intel Terascale. <br />
