В связи с этим производители жестких дисков ищут новые пути сохранения своей рыночной доли. При помощи нового винчестера Western Digital попытается обойти твердотельную память в плане производительности – где магнитные накопители начинают уступать. <br /><br />Новый жесткий диск будет иметь конструкцию, аналогичную с представленным недавно новым поколением VelociRaptor, а именно, этот жесткий диск будет 2,5-дюймовым, но заключен в 3,5-дюймовый радиатор. Какая-либо другая информация, ввиду того, что новый продукт находятся в разработке, пока неизвестна. Тем не менее, отмечается, что новый жесткий диск будет тихим. Предполагается, что снизить шум и вибрацию винчестера сможет радиатор, в который он будет заключен. <br />
