<div align="center"><img src="http://www.hdtv.ru/uploads/posts/2008-05/1211977984_intel-atom.jpg" style="border: none;" alt='Intel запускает Atom в июле' title='Intel запускает Atom в июле' /></div><br />Корпорация Intel планирует начать массовое производство двухъядерных процессоров Atom во вторую неделю июля, сообщает DigiTimes со ссылкой на источники в индустрии. <br /><br />Первый двухъядерный чип Intel Atom будет работать на тактовой частоте 1,6 ГГц и поддерживать технологию наподобие Hyper-Threading, ранее внедренной в процессорах Pentium IV. Данная технология, при некоторых условиях, позволит каждому из ядер процессора выполнять одновременно две операции за один такт. Спроектированное энергопотребление процессора (TDP) составит 16 Вт против 12 Вт в одноядерной версии этого же чипа. <br /><br />Одно- и двухъядерные процессоры Intel Atom будет устанавливаться в одинаковые слоты, поэтому для обновления компьютера до двухъядерного чипа, помимо установки самого процессора, будет необходимо всего лишь сменить прошивку BIOS. <br /><br />Производители ПК обеспокоены тем, что между запуском одноядерных Atom и новых процессоров пройдет слишком мало времени. Это может привести к тому, что спрос на компьютеры с одноядерными чипами со стороны покупателей быстро снизится, и поставщикам придется искать выход из этой ситуации. <br />
