Компания Panasonic анонсировала новую линейку плазменных телевизоров высокой четкости - Viera PZ850. Отличительной чертой линейки станет функция прямого доступа к порталу обмена фотографиями Google Picasa и видеороликами YouTube. Возможности основаны на технологии Viera Cast, которые производитель ввел в свои плазменные телевизоры впервые. «Представьте, что, нажав всего на одну кнопку, вы увидите фотографии, снятые вашими членами семьи в отпуске, которые будут выводиться прямо на экран вашего плазменного телевизора, или посмотрите некоторые из многочисленных интригующих видеороликов на YouTube, - делится вице-президент Panasonic Боб Перри (Bob Perry). – С линейкой Viera PZ850 и технологией Viera Cast это станет возможным».

Линейка включит модели с диагональю экрана 46, 50, 58 и 65 дюймов. Дополнительным преимуществом новых моделей станет поддержка кодека H.264 при воспроизведений файлов с SD-карт, помещенных во встроенный слот. Таким способом, помимо видео, можно просматривать и фотографии, хотя последняя возможность присутствует во всех HD-телевизорах Panasonic Viera.

Новые телевизоры открывают доступ к многочисленным настройкам через Pro Setting Menu, что непременно оценят киноманы; статическая контрастность панелей составляет 30000:1, в то время как динамическая может достигать 1000000:1. Есть поддержка частоты обновления 24 кадра в секунду. Наличествуют и другие современные технологии, например, режим Game Mode, устраняющий нежелательные шлейфы. В Panasonic отмечают, что срок службы новых панелей составляет не менее 100 тыс. часов или более 40 лет в режиме просмотра около 6-и часов в день.

В США две младшие модели поступят в продажу в середине июня 2008 г. по цене $3100 и $3500 соответственно. 58- и 65-дюймовые модели дебютируют осенью по цене $4300 и $8000. О поставках в другие регионы неизвестно.
