По словам официальных представителей компании, новая техника, которую они применили, позволила не только согнуть ЖК-дисплей, но и сохранить подсветку на всей его площади. Разработчики полагают, что подобные дисплеи найдут свое применение в новых устройствах, в которых установить дисплеи раньше не представлялось возможным. <br /><br />Компания LG Display сообщила о разработке самых больших в мире ЖК-дисплеев в форме эллипса длиной 13,1 см и круга диаметром 3,6 см. Оба дисплея способны отображать 262 тыс. цветовых оттенков на угол обзора в 160 градусов.<br /><br />Компания NEC пошла дальше и создала ЖК-дисплей в форме сердца. Размеры дисплея составляют 4 x 3,6 см, разрешение – 146 пикселей на дюйм. <br /><br />Все вышеописанные дисплеи демонстрируются на выставке Society for Information Display (SID) 2008, проходящей в эти дни в Лос-Анджелесе. <br /><br />
