BBC продолжит поддерживать оба формата

Решение студии Warner перейти к одному формату не распространилось на ее партнера BBC Home Video.
Согласно заявлению представителя компании изданию TVShowsonDVD, BBC будет придерживаться своей стратегии по поддержке двух форматов до тех пор, пока полностью не оценит рынок.
В доказательство своего решения BBC назвала фильм 'Planet Earth' (продажи HD DVD версий этого фильма превысили продажи Blu-ray), а также напомнила о грядущих релизах на 2008 год, выход которых запланирован в обоих форматах.
Подобное решение BBC появилась на фоне других двух киностудий, New Line и HBO, которые на днях заявили о своем отказе от формата HD DVD. Таким образом, BBC осталась последней студией из компании дистрибьюторов Warner, которая осталась верна своим позициям.
