Плазменная панель с диагональю 50”,  способна отображать, по словам представителей, компании абсолютно черный цвет. Толщина же новинки составляет всего лишь 9 миллиметров (0,35”).  <br /><br />  На фоне "Project Kuro” ультратонкая плазменная панель от Hitachi толщиной 1.5” выглядит просто неуклюжей толстушкой. Кроме того, отличнейший уровень контрастности воздвигает эту плазму на вершину качества. Весит это чудо техники  всего лишь 40 фунтов.  Презентация, проходила в затемненной комнате, что являлось тонкой маркетинговой акцией. Ведь для того, чтобы заинтересовать целевую аудиторию,  к которой относятся любители техники стандарта Hi-End и домашних кинотеатров сложно представить что-то лучше. Именно в этой затемненной комнате и демонстрировалась изумительная глубина черного цвета изображения, так как панель просто не была видна при соответствующем освещении, а как все мы знаем, обычно границы дисплеев видно, из-за небольшой подсветки даже во время показа темных сцен.  <br /> При разработке плазмы 8-го поколения PDP-5010FD с разрешением 1080p компания превзошла саму себя. Плазмы 8-го поколения по многим параметрам превзошли плазмы предыдущего поколения компании,  и целью презентации было также показать насколько можно продвинуться в развитии технологий под управлением Pioneer. Кроме того, отличнейший уровень контрастности воздвигает эту плазму на вершину качества. Поэтому становиться грустно от того, что  потенциальные потребители вряд ли смогут насладиться этим  продуктом HDTV, который можно сравнить с произведением искусства, так как в розничную продажу в этом году он не поступит.
