Fox называет спецификации и новую дату выхода 'Дня Независимости' Первоначально назначенная дата выхода фильма (4 декабря) была перенесена всего за несколько дней до начала продаж. На днях киностудия пообещала выпустить Blu-ray версию 'Дня Независимости' 11 марта 2008 года.

Fox также представила конечные спецификации, которые включают в себя формат видео 1080p/AVC MPEG4, звук стандарта DTS-HD Lossless Master Audio 5.1 Surround track, а также субтитры на французском и испанском языке.
Поклонников, которые ждут такое же количество дополнений как на двух дисках DVD версии фильма, придется разочаровать, так как студия предложила очень ограниченное число бонусов на Blu-ray. На диске будут присутствовать всего два аудио комментария с участием создателей фильма, а также четыре кино-трейлера к фильму.
Эксклюзивными особенностями Blu-ray версии станет BD-Java интерактивная игра "Alien Intercept", персональный выбор сцен, индексация контента и функции D-Box.
Стоимость диска составит $39.98.
