Цифровой интерфейс DisplayPort уже начал появляться в настольных персональных компьютерах – уже появились первые видоекарты с его поддержкой, и компьютерные мониторы, например, 30-дюймовая модель от компании Dell. Разработан интерфейс в качестве замены популярному сегодня цифровому DVI и HDMI, и в следующем году наблюдатели ожидают рост популярности DisplayPort, в том числе и в секторе мобильных компьютеров.<br /><div align="center"><img src="http://www.hdtv.ru/uploads/posts/1198768396_974548056displayport20white.jpg" style="border: none;" alt='Ноутбуки с DisplayPort будут тоньше современных' /></div><br />В случае ноутбуков переход на использование DisplayPort в качестве связующего звена между графической подсистемой и дисплеем приведет к снижению толщины корпуса ПК. Ведь в этом случае разработчики смогут отказаться от использования интерфейса LVDS, пропускная способность которого позволяет работать с изображением разрешением 1400 x 1050 точек и частотой 60 Гц, а для поддержки более высоких разрешения используется уже два интерфейса LVDS. К тому же, использование DisplayPort позволяет производителям персональных компьютеров экономить на лицензионных отчислениях, которые они выплачивают за использование порта HDMI.<br /><br />К преимуществам интерфейса DisplayPort уже присматривается компания Dell, которая планирует выпустить первые модели мобильных компьютеров, оснащенным новым портом для передачи видеосигнала. Но пока о конкретных сроках выхода на рынок подобных систем не сообщается.
