Постепенное увеличение диагонали экрана ЖК-телевизоров сопровождается стремлением производителей сделать их как можно тоньше. На прошедшей в начале текущего месяца выставке CEATEC Japan 2007 три влиятельных игрока ТВ-рынка, компании JVC, Hitachi и Sharp, пообещали значительно уменьшить толщину телевизоров. В свою очередь, известный поставщик ЖК-панелей LG.Philips решил не отставать от моды на ультратонкие телевизоры и заявил о своих планах наладить выпуск новых дисплеев с диагональю 42 дюйма и толщиной всего 19,8 мм. Дебютные образцы будут продемонстрированы на международном шоу FPD International 2007, что пройдёт в японском городе Йокохама с 24 по 26 октября. Выход "похудевших" телевизоров на базе тонких панелей LG.Philips запланирован на первый квартал будущего года.<br /><br />По заявлению разработчиков из LG.Philips, новые 42-дюймовые ЖК-панели класса Ultra-Slim отличаются не только меньшей толщиной. Кроме того, что панели на 40% тоньше современных аналогов, они примерно на 10% ярче нынешних моделей с аналогичной диагональю.<br /><div align="center"><img src="http://www.hdtv.ru/uploads/posts/1193000794_63223.jpg" style="border: none;" alt='LG.Philips: 42&quot; ЖК-панели Ultra-Slim выйдут в 2008 году' /></div><br /><br />Грядущие ЖК-дисплеи LG.Philips имеют разрешение Full HD (1920 x 1080) и работают с частотой обновления кадров 120 Гц. Вовсе не секрет, что с помощью развёртки с удвоенной кадровой частотой производители телевизоров борются с эффектом замыливания и мерцания изображения, который больше всего себя проявляет на динамических сюжетах. Что касается задней подсветки, выбор пал на традиционные флуоресцентные лампы с холодным катодом (CCFL). Несмотря на все достоинства светодиодной (LED) подсветки, на данном этапе своего развития она заметно удорожает ЖК-панели, считают в LG.Philips.
