На выставке CEATEC, которая недавно прошла в Японии, общественности был представлен необычайно тонкий плазменный дисплей. Обладая толщиной всего в 1 миллиметр, он мог ещё и изгибаться.<br /><div align="center"><img src="http://www.hdtv.ru/uploads/posts/1191849803_190021.jpg" style="border: none;" alt='Плазменные дисплеи станут гибкими' /></div><br />Новинка была представлена корпорацией Shinoda Plasma, которая как раз занимается исследованиями в этой области. Этот образец дисплея состоит из множества плазменных трубок (tubes), сосредоточенных около электродов. Каждая такая трубка состоит из прозрачного стекла, в котором заключён специфический газ и три светящихся вещества разного цвета. Таким образом, дисплей работает по цветовой модели RGB. Предоставленный образец был размером 100 х 50 сантиметров, что можно сравнить с 43-дюймовым телевизором.<br /><br />Есть у такого экрана и недостаток: его разрешение серьёзно ограничено в связи со структурой ячеек. Дело в том, что в стремлении сделать экран тонким, инженеры расположили трубки не вертикально, а горизонтально. Из-за этого шаг пикселя стал равным 3 миллиметрам. Однако представители Shinoda Plasma и не планируют использование таких устройств в бытовых целях. Новинка разработана для того, чтобы объединять множество таких экранов в один большой прозрачный щит, который не будет иметь швов. Очевидно, что такие изделия будут очень востребованы в рекламных целях.<br /><br />В настоящий момент разработка находится в зачаточной стадии, и может потребоваться несколько лет, чтобы увидеть первые рыночные модели таких экранов.
