Он также сказал: “На сегодняшний день нет никакого условия, при котором существующие плееры не могли бы продолжать выпускаться после 31-го Октября с прежней версией 1.0”. <br /> Что же тогда случится, если не будет плееров с поддержкой данного стандарта?        <br /> ‘Данная проблема - это все равно что спросить, что было раньше, курица или яйцо?’, говорит Gregorich, добавляя при этом, что существующие сейчас Blu-ray плееры не будут иметь возможность апгрейда, за исключением PlayStation 3, в виду своего мощного процессора Cell. <br /> 'Киностудии не хотят включать новые возможности в свои продукты, потому что потребители к этому не готовы, а производители не хотят выпускать плееры, для которых нет специального программного обеспечения на новые функции'.<br /> 'Поэтому при создании формата HD DVD изначально поступили правильно. Ему с первого дня требовался Ethernet, постоянное место для хранения данных и второй видео декодер'.
