Windows Vista не дает пользователям проигрывать видео высокого разрешения Функции защиты контента, которые имеются в Windows Vista, мешают пользователям проигрывать видео высокого разрешения и уменьшают общую производительность системы, сообщают эксперты.

Vista требует, чтобы качество премиум-контента, например – видео высокого разрешения, было понижено перед его выводом через цифровые выходы. В то время как Microsoft ставит своей целью защитить коммерческий контент, все больше и больше домашних фильмов начинает сниматься в высоком разрешении, что лишает возможности пользователей проиграть отснятый материал.

«Блокируется не коммерческий контент высокого разрешения, а контент самих пользователей», - сказал компьютерный исследователь Питер Гатманн (Peter Gutmann) на симпозиуме по безопасности USENIX в Бостоне. «Чем больше у вас премиум-контента, тем больше выходов выключено».

Гатманн утверждает, что при создании Vista для Microsoft на первом месте стоял именно вопрос защиты контента, возможно - из-за получения прибыли и денег из Голливуда. Microsoft следовало бы сконцентрироваться на тех функциях безопасности, которые призваны защитить пользователя.
