По данным источника, специалисты компании Hitachi смогли улучшить технологию трехмерных голографических дисплеев, представленную в 2004 году.

Упомянутая технология считается одним из перспективных направлений работ по созданию принципиально новых устройств отображения, в первую очередь, предназначенных для игр и трехмерного проектирования. В настоящее время, на рынке представлено несколько технологий, позволяющих создавать объемные зрительные образы, но до коммерческой реализации разработок в области трехмерных голографических дисплеев пока не дошло.

Напомним, в 2004 году компания Hitachi анонсировала технологию, принцип которой заключался в использовании 24 изображений объекта, сделанных под разными углами, для формирования объемного образа. На тот момент, исследователи могли создавать образы объектов размерами до 10 см.

В новой версии разработки для формирования «картинки» используется не система вращающихся зеркал, как это было ранее, а жидкокристаллические экраны. По словам разработчиков, технология, в первую очередь, рассчитана на применение в школах и музеях, так что, вероятно, до применения в играх очередь дойдет нескоро.
